My wife Mattea and I have lived in Corvallis since 2019. We’re raising our two young daughters (so far!) here, and we plan to stay for the rest of our lives. The city our kids inherit will be shaped by the choices we make now, so I care a great deal, for my family’s sake and everyone else’s, that we get every boring but important detail right.
I have a successful career in education technology, and I’m currently the founder of Quotid, a long-form memorization app. Before that, I led real estate software for microschools at Primer and designed the core of the world’s leading digital math tutor at Synthesis. And out of my garage here in Corvallis, I ran a small company that made high-end 3D-printed models of DNA and small organic molecules, with customers in dozens of states and a handful of countries.
No current councilor has children at home. I’d bring that missing perspective. I’d also be the only councilor working in a decision-making private-sector role. Add my experience as Vice Chair of the Corvallis Planning Commission, and I’m ready to hit the ground running during a big transition: six or seven of our nine councilors won’t be returning after the 2026 election.

My pledge to Ward 6
You deserve a representative who handles the basics. You can count on me to:
Attend every meeting.
Read every packet.
Hold quarterly town halls.
Answer every email.
Meet every constituent who asks.
Treat everyone with respect.
What I believe
I am a localist. City government should focus on streets, parks, the local economy and not going bankrupt, not on national or global disputes.
I am an urbanist. Cities should be cities, and you shouldn’t need to drive in one. I support building more homes in Corvallis’s walkable core, and safer ways to get around without a car. (I don’t drive in town!)
I am a “conservative liberal”: I believe our American system is fundamentally well designed. It mostly needs responsible management, sensible tweaks and careful attention to detail.
I am a Christian and regularly attend Redemption Church (here in Ward 6 on Grant Avenue). My faith is an important part of my life. It holds me to a high standard of integrity, and it’s a big part of why I feel responsible for caring for this community and the people in it.
I am a Georgist. Our tax structures shouldn’t penalize hard work or investment. In particular, I believe improvements to property should be taxed less than the land they sit on.
